We're unofficially anointing our Man of the Year with an additional title: Hair of the Year. Case in point: the tighter, tougher looking locks he's sporting on our cover right now. We spoke with Justin Timberlake's on-set groomer, hairstylist Johnny Hernandez, for tips on recreating the look.
The Inspiration: "He had a brat pack look going, but the music in his new album is a little bit darker, so his hair is a little more severe," says Hernandez. "We cut sides really short and it looks wet.
The Cut: Leave two inches on top but cut the sides short with a number one clipper. "You want to take the shave pretty high but make sure there isn't a line, it has to blend," says Hernandez. Then have the stylist cut layers into the top for texture.
The Style: Towel dry hair (or if it's super curly like JT's, blow it straight first), then rub a nickel-sized amount of Kevin Murphy's Gritty Business paste between fingers and mold hair into place. Finish with a few spritzes of his Shimmer.Shine oil, running fingers through hair to disperse. "It makes hair look wet with a little bit of sheen," says Hernandez.
The Beard: "He likes having a little bit of stubble," says Hernandez. "This kind of a cut can work with or without it, but the scruff with the short sides looks amazing."

Well now go on and sport up that look ....
